A BUSY SUMMER

We have had a busy summer!!
Marggie completed her precious gift of a tea cozy....5 months of meticulous work in a 3 and 4 cut, I believe, WOW!
One side is the coat of arms of the groom and the other the surname of the bride,
so special!
Also there are objects in the background of different shapes that you really have to look to see.
A labor of love! What a lucky couple to receive this gift!

From the Archives

I'm having a lot of fun wading through a gi-normous box of patterns and books that our group has collected, and i found the info below in a commemorative issue of the OHCG newsletter, celebrating its 45th anniversary.

This photo accompanied an article about Mary Sheppard Burton, who was a good friend to the guild for many years.  This is a rug for which Mary won the Ontario Crafts Council design award, as part of the "Tell Me 'Bout" series.  The caption below the rug, titled "Chicken Fishin'", is hilarious!

This rug is now housed in the Library of Congress in Washington DC.
