Summer and Rug Hooking

Have you ever noticed that once the warm weather hits that you rug hook less? We have such busy lives and then add the pull of the outdoors and sunshine and guess what?? Your rug hooking lies in a corner until the leaves start falling..........................

a couple of tips to keep you going through the summer!

Hook Outside!  Yes set up your frame or grab your hoop and a nice cool place to sit and enjoy your garden as you hook.  You will find inspiration from all that beauty and YES a cold glass of lemonade is always a good idea!

Hook for 5 minutes a day!  YES it makes a difference!  I have been trying to do this and over the past week it is making a dent in the never ending border I am doing and you know what?  you might just sit there for more than 5 minutes!

Hook a small project! 

  Maybe a pillow or get a head start on some Christmas ornaments, YES, it's not too early!

Whatever you do enjoy your surroundings, take a breath and smile!

May 30th Pot Luck Lunch

Karen Kaiser will be attending our year end Pot Luck as a vendor and as a friend of our group on Monday May 30th from 10-2pm so..........................dust off your cookbooks and scour your secret websites for your favourite yummy recipes! Who knows you may have the next recipe in our recipe collection: YUM!

Oh and I forgot to mention check your stash for colours you might need or WANT over the LONG summer as we won't meet again until September!

I hope you are enjoying our new blog as much as we are!  It is a learning curve for me, not so much for others, hahaha! so please bear with us as we tweak this and that!

Please send me any photos that you would like to add or stories or experiences you would like to share: and YES FOOD!!! to add to our recipe section!  I learned early on in rug hooking "it's all about the food" . Every group I have been to always has some yummy treats to share.

Also if anyone knows who hooked some of our rugs on our "photo gallery page" that are blank, please let me know and if I have some of the names wrong please correct me.  I want to give credit to the proper people.
