2 Fibre Events on the Same August Weekend!

Mark your calendars for this special weekend in August.  The opportunities for fibre fanatics are significant! There are 2 different events taking place, and we have been asked to demonstrate at both of them, fortunately on different dates!

Details for both events are still being worked out, but in the meantime, please circle these dates on your calendars, and consider participating as a demonstrator.

FIBRELICIOUS

This is a 3 day festival celebrating all things fibre.

  • Friday August 10 is a one day festival in Hastings
  • Saturday August 11 there will be a series of fibre-related workshops at Lang Pioneer Village
  • Sunday August 12 there will be fibre demonstrations at Lang Pioneer Village

We have been asked to demonstrate rug hooking at Lang on Sunday August 12, 10am-4pm.  This is where we get to dress up in period costume (à la Murdoch Mysteries).

Here's a link to a bit more info on the Lang Website.

Also taking place on the Saturday of that same weekend is:

FARMERS' MARKET ARTS FESTIVAL

This is a special day where the Port Hope Farmer's Market invites artisans to join them from 8 am to 3 pm on a Saturday, behind the Town Hall.

We are able to participate as artisans, and will need volunteers to demonstrate rug hooking from 8am-3pm.

We discussed this one at our last meeting, and agreed it would be a great opportunity to promote rug hooking, and perhaps to even sell of our stuff.  Now is the time to get cracking if you think you might have something suitable to sell.  Karen Kaiser may have some coasters and kits available, too.
